David

David Shapero
Managing Director

With a Masters Degree in Applied Finance and almost 20 years experience in financial and investment management, David’s shift into renewable energy development in 2003 was a radical career change. For David however, the formation of Future Energy Pty Ltd represented the ideal way to harness his financial skills in an emerging market sector which is proving to be of critical importance in the fight against climate change.

Adrian

Adrian Nelson
Executive Director

Adrian met David Shapero during 2007 and quickly discovered he shared David’s vision for distributed renewable energy generation based on the European mixed-ownership model. In 2008, Adrian joined Future Energy as a Director and shareholder, and has since focused on providing the business with a framework of structure, strategy and support from which to develop and expand. 

Adrian has enjoyed a successful corporate career in the DIY and lottery industries spanning over thirty years, during which time he has lived and worked in countries as diverse as India and South Africa. A focus on marketing and business development is already proving extremely valuable to Future Energy as it becomes involved in larger projects and new technologies.

 
Jeannie Sim

Jeannie Sim
Director of Projects

Having previously worked with the Future Energy directors, Jeannie now joins the team to oversee the practical implementation of projects in the Future Energy pipeline.

With qualifications in computer science and law from the United Kingdom, and a Masters Degree in Technology Management from Melbourne Business School, Jeannie has enjoyed a successful career in project management that spans more than 15 years across public and private enterprises, locally and abroad. She has delivered large, complex projects in many industries, including airline, mining, superannuation, entertainment, banking & finance, telecommunication, and public transport.

Jeannie brings with her extensive project delivery discipline and rigour to complement the industry acumen, agility and efficiency of Future Energy.

Jeannie’s personal background traverses  several different cultures. She is fluent in five languages and has the ability to communicate effectively across many cultures and at all levels, providing significant benefit to Future Energy’s diverse investor, supplier and customer relationships.

 
Severin

Severin Staalesen
Wind Farm Planner

A keen interest in the Hepburn Community Wind Farm drew Sev to approach Future Energy in 2007. Having worked on environmental campaigns throughout 2005–07, Sev had come to appreciate the need to develop renewable energy generation in Australia and therefore wanted to get involved. Since joining Future Energy in the role of Wind Farm Planner, Sev has carried out most of the work necessary to prepare planning permit applications for the Hepburn, Winchelsea, Chepstowe and Pykes Hill Projects.

 
Irene

Irene Perkoulidis
Office & Administration Manager

Having a long standing interest and passion for environmental issues and renewable energy, making a move to Future Energy was a natural career progression. Professionally and academically, Irene has worked with the Alternative Technology Association, and studied Environmentally Sustainable Design, giving her a sound knowledge of the principles of renewable energy generation. Irene has worked within a variety of administrative roles since 2001, and has a focus on providing quality and clear information to clients. Irene is responsible for the smooth running of the day to day activity in the Future Energy office as well as assisting the other team members with aspects of their projects.
