Wind Projects

Chepstowe

In May 2011 Planning Minister Matthew Guy announced the approval of the Chepstowe Wind Farm planning permit application, and a permit for the development was subsequently issued by the Pyrenees Shire Council.

Since then, considerable work has been done to put in place the many different arrangements necessary to construct and operate a wind farm. These include:

  • Discussions with potential investors and providers of debt funding
  • Conducting a tender process for the selection of turbine suppler and balance of plant contractor
  • Organising detailed grid connection studies in concert with Network Service Provider Powercor
  • Sourcing a Power Purchase Agreement for the sale of energy and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)
  • Finalising arrangements with the landowner
  • Detailed planning in regard to compliance with the Permit Conditions
  • Corporate structuring to provide investment opportunities for the community
